US TYPE NAVY PEA COAT BLACK [JC043YNBK]
The US Pea coat was officially adopted into the naval service since the 1910s for non-commission officer. We have modeled our Pea coat after non-commissioned officer wool coat. Pea coat has large buttons with anchors imprinted but the earlier types was a bit different. Buttons of earlier model Pea Coat had 13 stars around the anchor, buttons were placed 5 rows 2 columns, total of 10 buttons were used.
In the 30s the buttons with 13 stars imprinted were abolished, in the 40s the chin strap was also abolished, and then in the 50s the anchor buttons were changed to 4 rows 2 columns, total of 8 buttons. Many modifications were made since then.
Our product is based on the earlier type and made length shorter than the genuine coat, uses 80% wool 20% nylon mixture so that the heaviness of the Melton fabric will not let the be felt.
